Nasceu em Singapura em 1986. Formado no programa de cinema do California Institute of the Arts, é um dos fundadores do 13 Little Pictures, um coletivo de cinema independente de seu país natal. Hui é diretor dos longas-metragens “Eclipses” (2011), “Snakeskin” (2014) e “Demons” (2018), exibidos em festivais como os de Berlim, Torino e Busan, além do DocLisboa.
