Tizza Covi nasceu em Bolzano, na Itália, em 1971. Rainer Frimmel nasceu no mesmo ano em Viena. Ambos estudaram fotografia no Graphische Lehranstalt em Viena. Trabalham juntos em projetos de fotografia, teatro e cinema desde 1996. Realizaram os longas-metragens "Adorável Pivellina" (2009, 33ª Mostra), escolhido para representar a Áustria no Oscar e premiado na Quinzena dos Realizadores em Cannes; "O Brilho do Dia" (2012, 37ª Mostra), vencedor de três prêmios no Festival de Locarno, incluindo melhor ator para Walter Saabel; e "Mister Universo" (2016), que recebeu o prêmio da crítica internacional também em Locarno.
Tizza Covi was born in Bolzano, Italy, in 1971, while Rainer Frimmel was born in Vienna that same year. They both studied photography at the Vienna Higher College for Graphic Art. Since 1996, they have worked together in photography, stage and film projects. Together, they directed the feature films "La Pivellina" (2009, 33rd Mostra), Austria’s official entry for the Oscar and awarded at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes; "The Shine of Day" (2012, 37th Mostra), which won three awards at Locarno Film Festival, including the best actor for Walter Saabel; and "Mister Universo" (2016), winner of the international critics’ award at Locarno.
