Nasceu em Opava, República Tcheca, em 1967. Formou-se pela Escola de Cinema de Praga. Dele, a Mostra exibiu os longas-metragens "Abelhas Selvagens", seu longa de estreia, que ganhou o prêmio de melhor filme no Festival de Roterdã, "Algo como a Felicidade" (2005), melhor filme no Festival de San Sebastián, "Quatro Sóis" (2012) e "Mãe no Gelo" (2017).
Born in Opava, Czech Republic, in 1967. He graduated from the Prague Film School. Directed by him, Mostra presented the features "Wild Bees", his feature film debut, awarded with Best Film at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, "Something like Happiness" (2005), Best Picture at the San Sebastián International Film Festival, "Four Suns" (2012) and "Ice Mother" (2017).
