Nascido em 1966, na Geórgia, emigrou para Israel em 1972. Estudou filosofia e cinema na Universidade de Tel Aviv, onde integra o Departamento de Cinema e Televisão. Dirigiu alguns curtas, até concluir seus estudos, em 1999, com With Rules, segundo prêmio da Cinéfondation, em Cannes, e melhor curta no Festival de Jerusalém. Casamento Arranjado é sua estréia em longas. Trabalha em seu segundo longa: A Gift From the Sky.

He directed some short films until he concluded his studies in 1999 with With Rules, second prize from the Cinéfondation in Cannes, the best short film at the Jerusalem Festival. Late Marriage is his first feature. He is working on his second feature: A Gift from the Sky.
