Nasceu na Finlândia em 1955 e estudou direção em Munique. Dirigiu seu primeiro filme, "The Liar" (1980). Mudou-se para o Rio de Janeiro na década de 1990 e, desde então, trabalhou em várias coproduções. Dirigiu, entre outros, os longas "Amazon" (1990, 15ª Mostra), "Zombie e o Trem Fantasma" (1991, 16ª Mostra), "Absolutamente Los Angeles" (1998, 26ª Mostra), "Moro no Brasil" (2001, 27ª Mostra), "Sonic Mirrors" (2007, 31ª Mostra), "O Ciúme Mora ao Lado" (2009, 34ª Mostra) e "Estrada para o Norte" (2012, 37ª Mostra). Também dirigiu o segmento "Manhã de Domingo", parte do longa-metragem "Bem-Vindo a São Paulo" (2004), produzido pela Mostra.

He also directed the segment "Sunday Morning", part of the feature film "Welcome to São Paulo" (2004), produced by the Mostra.
