Nasceu na Alemanha em 1965. Diretor, roteirista, produtor e compositor, ele começou a fazer filmes em super-8 aos 11 anos. Dirigiu, entre outros, "Corra Lola, Corra" (1998, 23ª Mostra), "A Princesa e o Guerreiro" (2000, 25ª Mostra), "Paraíso" (2001, 26ª Mostra), e "Alemanha 09" (2009, 32ª Mostra).
