Cineasta romeno radicado em Nova York. Ex-advogado, mudou-se para os Estados Unidos, onde se formou na Universidade de Columbia em direção e fotografia para cinema. Dirigiu os curtas "A Very Small Trilogy of Loneliness" (2006) e "Last Day of December" (2008). "Periferic" tem entre seus roteiristas Cristian Mungiu, vencedor da Palma de Ouro em Cannes com "4 Meses, 3 Semanas e 2 Dias" (2007).
