Arte por Fellini
A arte comemorativa dos dez anos da Mostra foi o palhaço-triste desenhado por Federico Fellini. Entre os fatos ocorridos na 10ª edição do evento, um deles foi a invasão do Cine Metrópole por grupos punks que fizeram da sessão um happening e picharam o interior da sala durante a exibição de Sid e Nancy, vencedor do Prêmio da Crítica. O Prêmio do Público ficou com O Homem da Linha, de Jos Stelling, laureado pelo segundo ano consecutivo. A 10ª Mostra Internacional de Cinema em São Paulo aconteceu de 15 a 31 de outubro de 1986.

The commemorative art for the tenth anniversary was the sad clown drawn by Fellini. Among the facts of the year, the invasion of Cine Metrópole by new punk groups that turned the session into an attraction and graffited the inner walls of the theater during the exhibition of “Sid and Nancy – Love Kills”. Public Choice Award: “The Pointsman”, for the second consecutive year by Jos Stelling (The Netherlands). Critics Award: “Sid and Nancy - Love Kills”, by Alex Cox (England).
