Arte por Angeli
1990 foi o ano do "Golpe Collor". Sem patrocínios, a Mostra contou com o socorro da produtora francesa Argos Films, que cedeu os direitos de distribuição no Brasil de Asas do Desejo. Nessa edição, a Mostra revelou o cinema iraniano e seus futuros expoentes, Abbas Kiarostami (Close Up) e Moshen Makhmalbaf (O Ciclista). E, pela primeira vez, apresentou também uma seleção de filmes trash, outro futuro gênero cult. O pôster foi criado pelo cartunista Angeli. A 14ª Mostra Internacional de Cinema em São Paulo aconteceu de 17 a 31 de outubro de 1990.

It is the year of the "Collor Coup". With no sponsorship, Mostra counts on the help of French producer Argos Films, that assigns the distribution rights in Brasil of “Wings of Desire”. This year Mostra discloses Iranian movies and their future star, Abbas Kiarostami (“Close Up”) e Moshen Makhmalbaf (“The Cyclist”). And it also presents, for the first time, a selection of trash movies, other future cult genre. The poster created by cartoonist Angeli turns into classic. Public Choice Award: “The Mahabharata”, by Peter Brook (England). Critics Award: “Palombella Rossa”, by Nanni Moretti (Italy).
