Born in Buenos Aires in 1961. He is a film director, screenwriter, actor and writer. One of the most important names of the new Argentine cinema, Alejandro Agresti had a retrospective of his films at the 16th Mostra, which included “Love Is a Fat Woman” (1987), “Secret Wedding” (1989), “Library Love” (1991), “Everyone Wants to Help Ernest” (1991) and “Modern Crimes” (1992). He also directed films such as “Buenos Aires Vice Versa” (1996), winner of the special jury prize at the Havana Film Festival, “The Wind Took What” (1998), best film at the San Sebastián Film Festival, “Valentín” (2003), winner of the special jury prize at the Mar del Plata Film Festival, “A Less Bad World” (2005), awarded at Venice International Film Festival and screened at the 29th Mostra, “The Lake House” (2006), “We’re Not Animals” (2013) and “Mecánica Popular” (2016).
