The Festival discloses Argentinean director Eliseo Subiela, who had recently stopped working in advertising, with his film “Hombre Mirando al Sudeste”, which received the Public Choice Award. Critics Award: “The Legend of the Suram Fortress”, by Serguei Paradjanov, Georgian filmmaker persecuted by the Soviet regime. Ricardo van Steen and Guto Lacaz created the poster’s artwork.

A 11ª edição da Mostra revelou o diretor argentino Eliseo Subiela, recém-saído da publicidade com seu filme Homem Olhando o Sudeste, que ganhou o Prêmio do Público. O Prêmio da Crítica foi para A Lenda da Fortaleza Suram, de Sergei Paradjanov, cineasta georgiano perseguido pelo regime soviético. Ricardo van Steen e Guto Lacaz criaram a arte do pôster. A 11ª Mostra Internacional de Cinema em São Paulo aconteceu de 15 a 31 de outubro de 1987.
