Searching for a protagonist for his new film, a director falls in love with a strange aristocrat, but starts to receive a series of threatening phone calls ordering him to break off the affair. His lover disappears into thin air and he seeks comfort in another woman. But the deceitfulness and contradictions of his environment become more and more unbearable and the director loses himself in a search without end: the ideal woman does not exist.
