Numa tentativa de salvar a família, o introvertido professor Afet, que morou em Bagdá durante anos, se muda para Berlim com os filhos. Apesar de acreditar que eles estão finalmente livres da violência que sempre os atormentou, ele logo descobre que ser um refugiado num país estrangeiro não é o sonho que ele pensou ser.
In an attempt to save his family, quiet schoolteacher Afet, who has lived in Baghdad for years, moves to Berlin with his children. Though he believes they are finally free of the violence that has always tormented them, he soon learns that being a refugee in a foreign country is not the dream he thought it would be.
