Sinopse
O sinal está vermelho para o amor de Penny e Phil. A vida não foi generosa com eles. Penny passa seus dias como caixa de supermercado. Como motorista de táxi, Phil se defende atrás de um volante. Os dois vivem na periferia de Londres e pertencem à cada vez mais oprimida classe operária do país. As perspectivas para os filhos também não são das melhores. Rachel é faxineira em um retiro para idosos. Rory está desempregado e cada dia mais agressivo. O amor de Penny e Phil parece estar na reta final, mas poderá resurgir a qualquer instante, basta que chegue uma boa ou uma má notícia.
The lights are against for Penny and Phil where love is concerned. Life has not been generous to them. Penny spends her days as a cashier in a supermarket. Phil is a taxi driver and makes do as he can behind the wheel. They live on the outskirts of London and are part of the ever more opressed working class in the country. The prospects for their children are also not the best possible. Rachel is a cleaning woman in an old peoples`s home; Rory is unemployed and more aggressive by the day. Love for Penny and Phil appears to be in its final stages, but may recover at any moment, in response to a good or a bad piece of news.
