Sinopse
Primeiro longa-metragem de animação português. Em seu reino distante, o rei Barbeca só pensa em construir uma enorme torre. Tirano, maquiavélico e mesquinho, ele proíbe tudo, mergulhando o reino em melancolia. É proibido brincar, subir em árvores, conversar com as borboletas, apanhar vento, pendurar-se nas estrelas. João Sete Sete, o acendedor de lareiras do rei, é o menino travesso dos bosques. Um dia, passeando pela floresta proibida de Azeméis, ele conhece uma menina que lhe conta os segredos das pedras e dos mistérios do “outro lado da floresta”. Enquanto isso, a floresta começa a ser destruída, e a infindável torre do castelo vai ficando cada vez maior. Será que o topo dessa construção sem fim é o teto do mundo?
The first Portuguese animation feature film. In his faraway kingdom, King Barbeca only thinks about building a gigantic tower. Tyrannical, wily and incredibly greedy, he forbids everything, plunging the kingdom into a sad and immense grey. It is forbidden to play, climb trees, talk to butterflies, catch breezes, hang on the stars. John Seven Seven is the boy, the boaster of the forest, the king’ unexpected fireplace lighter. One day, while walking through the forbidden forest of Azeméis, John meets a young girl who tells him about the secrets of the stones and the mysteries of the “other side of forest”. Meanwhile, the forest is being destroyed, and the endless castle tower is getting bigger. Will the Top of the World be the peak of this immeasurable construction?
