Sinopse
A ação se passa em um país do Caribe, muito provavelmente Cuba, onde a produção foi rodada e onde o diretor passou boa parte de sua vida. Mas para que fosse realizado lá, exigiu-se que isso não fosse mencionado no filme. Não chega a ser um problema, pois trata de questões pertinentes a toda a América Latina. Pitchi é um jovem negro encontrado morto na estrada, assassinado pela gangue Anjelitos Negros, que lida com drogas e prostituição. Inconformada com o fato, Dayana, que acaba de sair da prisão, decide investigar a morte do irmão Pitchi, que também estava envolvido com a gangue. Em seu caminho, ela irá encontrar o gângster El Calvo, Niki (líder dos Angelitos), Rafael (líder dos Rollers, outra gangue) e outros. Baseada em um fato real, a história foi vivida pela garota cubana Diunaibis Ramirez, que escreveu o roteiro com o diretor. "De Cuba temos sempre a imagem de velhos carros, velhas casas, velhos músicos e velhos fumadores de charuto. Tudo é bonito e nostálgico e agrada aos estrangeiros. Mas o passado é uma doce luxúria que não faz parte do cotidiano dos jovens negros de Marianao, na periferia de Havana", diz o diretor Pierre Maraval.

So that the film might be made there, however, it was essential that this not be mentioned in the film. This is no problem, for it deals with issues pertinent to all of Latin America. Pitchi is a young black found dead in the road, assassinated by the Anjelitos Negros gang, that deals with drugs and prostitution. Unable to accept the fact, Dayana, newly emerged from prison, decides to investigate the death of her brother Pitchi, also involved with the gang. In her path, she will find gangster El Calvo, Niki (leader of the Angelitos), Rafael (leader of the Rollers, another gang), and others. Based on real fact, the story was lived by a Cuban girl, Diunaibis Ramirez, who wrote the script together with the director. "As to Cuba, we are invariably left with a vision of old cars, old houses, old musicians, and old cigar smokers. All is beautiful and nostalgic and pleases strangers. The past, however, is sweet lust that is not part of day-to-day life for young blacks in Marianao, on the outskirts of Havana", says director Pierre Maraval.
