Sinopse
Nos anos 1970, a Turquia passa por uma grande reviravolta social e política. A União Soviética, seu gigantesco vizinho, vive um período de paranóia. É uma época na qual reinam a intolerância e a suspeita, contrastando com a antigüidade, quando as culturas grega e turca conviviam sem problemas, até a queda do Império Otomano. Por meio de uma jovem mulher, que vive num pequeno vilarejo de pescadores, fica muito claro que o conflito entre os países muda todo o cenário. A trágica vida dessa mulher leva a uma discussão sobre identidade e nacionalismo.
In the seventies, Turkey is in the throes of a tremendous social and political upheaval. The Soviet Union, the giant neighbor is in a period of paranoia. Intolerance and suspicion prevail at this time, in contrast with antiquity, when the Greek and Turkish cultures co-existed with no trouble, until the fall of the Ottoman Empire. Through a young woman living in a small fishing village, it is ever clear that the conflict between both countries has changed the scenario. The tragic life of this woman leads to a discussion on identity and nationalism.
