Em cada um dos 40 minutos de duração deste filme se respira uma atmosfera tipicamente escandinava. O célebre cineasta Ingmar Bergman e o documentarista Gunnar Bergdahl dialogam tranqüilamente na acolhedora sala de ensaios do Royal Theatre de Estocolmo, onde ele dirige “Ghost”, do dramaturgo norueguês Henrik Ibsen. Logo no início, surpreende a inversão promovida pelo velho mestre, que começa a colocar perguntas para seu interlocutor. Aos 83 anos, parte da história viva do cinema, Bergman não deixa de mostrar curiosidade em relação ao trabalho de um jovem realizador. In each one of the 40 minutes duration of this film, one breathes the very atmosphere of Scandinavia. Famed film maker Ingmar Bergman and documentary maker Gunnar Bergdahl are engaged in a quiet dialog in the inviting rehearsal room at the Stockholm Royal Theatre, where he is directing “Ghost” by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. Right from the start, the inversion of roles by the aged master is surprising when he himself begins to ask his interviewer questions. At the age of 83 and part of the living history of cinema, Bergman is nevertheless curious about the work of the young film maker. In spite of an advanced age, the Swedish film maker shows an unbelievable strength for work, he never stops writing new scripts, and he goes to the cinema five days a week, invariably for the 3:00 P.M. session, in the small cinema in Farö, where he was born. This is the last of a series of conversations between Gunnar Bergdahl and Ingmar Bergmann, where he tells of his life, the films and film makers he most likes, the magic of theater, aging, and death.
