Além de diretor e ator, Clint Eastwood é pianista. "O blues sempre fez parte da minha vida musical e o piano tem um lugar especial. Um documentário sobre o blues no piano me dá a oportunidade de fazer um filme mais diretamente ligado à música do que os longas que fiz durante minha carreira", diz o diretor.
O filme apresenta valiosas imagens de arquivo e entrevistas e performances de pianistas como Pinetop Perkins, Jay McShann, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Dave Brubeck e Marcia Ball. Eastwood mostra também como o instrumento foi utilizado em distintas épocas e com diferentes funções dentro do gênero.
Beyond being a director and an actor, Clint Eastwood is a pianist. "Blues was always part of my musical life, and the piano has a special place. A documentary on the blues at the piano provides me with the opportunity to make a film more directly connected to music than the features I made during my career", says the director. The film presents valuable scenes on file and interviews and performances by pianists such as Pinetop Perkins, Jay McShann, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Dave Brubeck, and Marcia Ball. Eastwood also shows how the instrument was used at separate times and with different functions within this kind of music.
