Sinopse
Durante o serviço militar nos anos 1990 no sudeste da Turquia, Ahmet passa por uma experiência que irá persegui-lo pelo resto da vida. Ele começa a sofrer ataques de estresse pós-traumático nos mais inesperados momentos, o que o leva ao alcoolismo. Em 2013, durante os dias caóticos dos protestos em Gezi Park, em Istambul, longe das amargas terras do sudeste, Ahmet descobre que tem um tumor no cérebro. Quando a linha entre a ficção e a realidade, o sonho e a verdade, começa a ficar embaçada, ele conhece o amor da sua vida, Serap, uma “miragem”, assim como o significado de seu nome.
Mas o tempo está passando e seu doloroso passado pesa todos os dias, sufocando-o com a mesma pergunta: quem é a criança que brinca de esconde-esconde com ele?
During his military service in 1990’s southeast Turkey, Ahmet experiences something that will haunt him for the rest of his life, trigger many post traumatic attacks in most unexpected moments and leads to a distressing alcohol addiction. In 2013, during the chaotic days of Gezi Park protests in İstanbul, far from the bitter lands of the southeast, Ahmet learns he has a brain tumor. Just as the lines between truth and fiction, the dream and the reality start to get blurred for him, he meets Serap; a “mirage” like the meaning of her name, the love of his life.
But time is ticking and his painful past weighs down on him every day, suffocating him with the same question: who is the child that plays hide and seek with him?
