Sonia is a woman that neglects many of her childhood pains and that feels obliviated by her husband, Agenor, a farmer and “folião” —reveler— from Divino Espírito Santo. A dedicated and affectionate father, Agenor fights to give his wife and two daughters a better life. Every year, in the name of his faith, he leaves his family alone in Tocantins countryside for 40 days. The arrival of mysterious Athayde, Agenor’s supposed nephew, will transform the family’s life.
