The film is a broad dive into the Afro-Brazilian universe through soul music, portraying the emergence of the genre, its arrival in Brazil at the end of the 60s and its musical success in the music industry, up to its peak with the famous bailes blacks in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The documentary portrays, in addition to the music, the movement to value black culture and the political fight against racism at that time. Through the eyes of some of the great black intellectuals of the 70s and today, such as Beatriz Nascimento, Lélia González and Edneia Gonçalves, the film seeks to portray the black Brazilian soul in quilombos and bailes soul.
