Ator, encenador, realizador, dramaturgo e argumentista português. Atuou em filmes como “Mal Nascida” (2007, 31ª Mostra), de João Canijo, “Águas Mil” (2009), de Ivo Ferreira, “Linhas de Wellington” (2012, 36ª Mostra), de Valeria Sarmiento, “Yvone Kane” (2014), de Margarida Cardoso, os volumes 2 e 3 da trilogia “As Mil e Uma Noites” (2015, 39ª Mostra), de Miguel Gomes, “São Jorge” (2016, 40ª Mostra), de Marco Martins, “Tristeza e Alegria na Vida das Girafas” (2019, 43ª Mostra) e “Restos do Vento” (2022, 46ª Mostra), ambos de Tiago Guedes. Como realizador, dirigiu os curtas-metragens “Nenhum Nome” (2010), premiado no IndieLisboa, e “Imaculado” (2013), além do longa-metragem “Patrick” (2019), exibido no Festival de San Sebastián e na 43ª Mostra, onde participou da Competição Novos Diretores. Na 48ª Mostra, Gonçalo Waddington também protagoniza “Grand Tour”, filme dirigido por Miguel Gomes, e que foi premiado no Festival de Cannes deste ano.

As a director, he made the short films “Nameless” (2010), awarded at IndieLisboa, and “Immaculate” (2013), in addition to the feature film “Patrick” (2019), presented at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and at the 43rd Mostra, where it participated in the New Directors Competition. At the 48th Mostra, Gonçalo Waddington also stars in “Grand Tour”, feature directed by Miguel Gomes and awarded at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
