Vencedor do Grande Prêmio do Festival de San Sebastián e da Caméra d`Or no Festival de Cannes, o filme mostra a dura trajetória de um imigrante mexicano nos Estados Unidos. Conhecidos como "alambristas", esses imigrantes entravam ilegalmente no país, basicamente na Califórnia, para trabalhar na colheita de uvas, tomates ou morangos. Ao serem pegos, eram mandados de volta ao México, mas sempre retornavam em busca de melhores condições de vida e da possibilidade de ganhar dinheiro e ter um futuro mais tranquilo.
Winner of the Grand Prize at the San Sebastián Festival and the Caméra d`Or at the Cannes Festival, the film shows the difficult trajectory of a Mexican immigrant in the United States. Known as "alambristas", these immigrants entered the country illegally, basically in California, to work in the harvest of grapes, tomatoes, or strawberries. Upon being caught, they were sent back to Mexico, but always returned in search of better living conditions and the possibility of earning money and having a more peaceful future.
