Nasceu em Cracóvia em 1947. Começou a carreira como ator no começo da década de 1970 e participou de filmes como "Amador" (1979, 5ª Mostra) e "A Igualdade É Branca" (1994, 38ª Mostra), ambos de Krzysztof Kieślowski. Dirigiu longas-metragens como "Histórias de Amor" (1997, 21ª Mostra), "O Grande Animal" (2000, 24ª Mostra), "O Tempo de Amanhã" (2003, 28ª Mostra) e o segmento "Tributo ao Público de Cinema", parte do longa coletivo "Mundo Invisível" (2011, 35ª Mostra e 36ª Mostra). Integrou o júri oficial da 25ª Mostra.

He was a member of the jury of the 25th Mostra.
