Nasceu nas Filipinas em 1973. É cineasta, artista, escritor e músico. Dirigiu mais de cem curtas-metragens, incluindo “Can and Slippers” (2005), “Mondomanila: Institute of Poets” (2004), “Headless” (2004) e “Amen, a Brown Comedy” (1998), exibidos em sessão conjunta na 29ª Mostra. Fez dezenas de longas-metragens, entre os quais “Squatterpunk” (2007), que participou do Festival de Roterdã, “The Muzzled Horse of an Engineer in Search of Mechanical Saddles” (2008), apresentado no Festival de Berlim, e “Manila in the Fangs of Darkness” (2008). Colaborou com Alexander Kluge em “Orphea”, exibido no Festival de Berlim, e “Happy Lamento”, selecionado para o Festival de Veneza. Exibiu obras em espaços e museus como MoMA, MAXXI, Guggenheim, Tate Modern e Bienal de Arquitetura de Veneza.


Born in the Philippines in 1973. He is a filmmaker, artist, writer and musician. Khavn has directed over a hundred short films, including “Can and Slippers” (2005), “Mondomanila: Institute of Poets” (2004), “Headless” (2004) and “Amen, a Brown Comedy” (1998), presented in a session at the 29th Mostra. The director has made dozens of feature films, including “Squatterpunk” (2007), which was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, “The Muzzled Horse of an Engineer in Search of Mechanical Saddles” (2008), presented at the Berlin International Film Festival, and “Manila in the Fangs of Darkness” (2008). He collaborated with Alexander Kluge on “Orphea”, presented at the Berlinale, and “Happy Lamento”, selected for the Venice International Film Festival. He has exhibited works at MoMA, MAXXI, Guggenheim, Tate Modern and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
