Nasceu em Dusseldorf, em 1960. Formou-se pela Escola de Televisão e Cinema de Munique. Desde 1983, tornou-se produtor. Born in Dusseldorf, in 1960. He graduated from the Munich School for Television and Cinema. As from 1983, he became a producer. He was one of the founders of The Other View, a co-operative for film distribution. His first film was a 16 mm documentary, "Scrapyard-Willi" (1984). He continued making short-length 16 mm films until 1989, when he completed his first full-length fiction film, "Franta" (14th Mostra). "Love, Life and Death" is his second feature film.
